Special Projects

Sugarplum Tent Company treats all events and clients as special and important. Each year, however, there are a few projects of special interest. These may involve challenging logistical problems, unusual functional or spatial requirements or unique tenting and decor installations. We're proud of our efforts and the key role we play as part of the special events teams involved in these efforts. Pictured below are several projects of note executed this past year with first-class organizations, planners, caterers, florists, and technical support teams in the mid-Atlantic region.

The Sequoia Restaurant was the site of an elegant fall wedding. Sugarplum built floors, laid carpet, installed tents, liners, leg drapes, walls, lighting and heat on a very challenging, multi-terraced site. This superb effort created a magical evening in the nation's capital.

Throughout its 30-year history, Concorde set the standard for luxury, comfort and refined service. For its retirement flight into Dulles Airport, British Airways called upon the Sugarplum Tent Company to create an elegant tented structure for final ceremonies, press conferences and public farewell.

To celebrate NEXTEL's sponsorship of America's NASCAR racing series, senior managers came to a heated 100' x 200' clearspan structure. The January event had restrictive time considerations and challenging weather conditions. Sugarplum was proud to have participated in this successful, memorable event.

A clear tent provides a natural setting for an important corporate reception high above the Potomac River near Washington. This Hawaiian luau was dramatic, elegant and fun for all.

Reveille-A Call to Excel was a Gala Awards dinner at the Virginia Military Academy. Sugarplum re-created a historic military encampment with a Mess Tent for 500 and individual Company Tents for cocktails. The Parade Ground came alive with the history and tradition of a great school.
